Special Needs Education (B.A.)

The study program in Special Needs Education was developed with a view to the increasing number of children with behavioural disorders, attention and concentration disorders, developmental delays, specific learning deficiencies, or disabilities.

 

Objectives and career prospects

Graduates of the program in Special Needs Education are qualified to work in fields such as:

  • Educational support: early intervention establishments; conductive educational organisations, day care facilities, institutions, and residential group homes
  • Work with people with disabilities: day care facilities, institutions and residential group homes; workshops; conductive educational care settings for children aged 0-12
  • School settings: preparatory organisations, conductive-inclusive schools, personal assistant roles
  • Gerontological settings: retirement homes, dementia care, ambulant services
  • Adult education: vocational schools for special needs education, vocational schools for social pedagogy, vocational schools for child care assistants, disability support worker, occupational therapy
  • Clinical settings: social paediatric centres, child and adolescent psychiatry, practices
  • Expert services: advising, instructing, supervision, training, continuing education, research
  • Admission to master’s degree programs
